I should’ve written a disclaimer saying this article is part satire.

I fully understand that we do not live in a pure “democracy”.

I’m criticizing the democracy that we do not have because the majority of people in fact still believe that we do indeed live in a democracy. And most of them are not well-informed or well-read on the historical circumstances, like you are, that have set the precedent and lead up to the conditions of our current political system, like you seem to be.
